Lacoste- New York Fashion Week

The lights went down, stage lights went up, and the blaring, yet symphonious music started playing… First model struts onto the runway at the Theatre at Lincoln Center New York Fashion Week.
From the start, Lacoste’s Fall Winter Collection brought me on a trip to the rustic French countryside defined by natural beautiful nature which originates the French nonchalance that invades the individual. The looks presented in this collection made me picture myself taking a vacation in France, playing on a gold course, whilst keeping a sporty aesthetic that is extremely elegant, yet daringly chic and individualistic.
This collection was the peak of an outdoors and nature-focused sportswear line, synonymous with comfort, wearability, durability, and protection; Lacoste’s design vision is always clear in all collections, but it never veers from its classic roots set forth by Simone and René Lacoste.
Nature is the biggest influence in this collection. All pieces are thought out meticulously: how is this garment related to nature, and how will it withstand in nature? Perfect way to create a true sportswear line, reaching out to both women and men. Layers were also key to the looks in Lacoste’s new collection. Layers allowed for freedom of movement, comfort, and textural dimension.
The colors used in this collection worked so coherently and beautifully- a trademark of Lacoste. Lacoste green took all possible vegetal shades, from deepest to softest, as well as trademark red fading away behind burgundy that extended to brown, and rainbows of natural blues and beiges. These colors are all so pleasing to the eye, and they also contribute to the greatness of this sportswear.
Beautiful essentials of this collection included masterfully crafted jackets, clean linear dresses, and sweaters with innovative shapes. Classic pants and tops had that Lacoste aesthetic that I simply adore.
The fabrics used in these designs ranges from pure new wool, knitted thick jersey, woolen cloth, and intarsia. The perfect edgy twist was the usage of nylon in a few pieces.

Props to the house at Lacoste for creating a collection that stays true to the French sportswear nonchalance principle set forth by its creators, whilst innovating and always being conscious about today. A mix of the past, the present, and future is the formula for Lacoste’s sportswear (although I am no mathematician.)

Here are a few great looks, sadly, sometimes the camera isn’t my best friend.

Final walk… Félicitations!

What did I wear?

For my day two of New York Fashion Week, I decided to stay true to classics, and adhere to Coco Chanel’s famous saying A girl should be two things: classy and fabulous.
I decided to wear a Nicole Miller slight peplum zip structured blouse, Juicy Couture trousers, Missoni for Target Heels, a Zara cape coat, Phillip Lim for Target bag… And, saving the best for last, and in honor of dearest Coco, I wore a vintage Chanel chain belt, which used to belong to my oh so fashionable grandmother. Nothing gets better than a vintage piece with sentimental value…

Here’s my look!

Happy Fashion Season!

PS: Thank you Joe Jonas, Bella Thorne, Colton Haynes and Leandra Medine for photobombing my pictures (Okay… Not really. Let’s say, fancily, making guest appearances in most of my pictures. )

  1. Love your outfit! ❤ the monochrome reminds me of Gucci rtw spring 2013 only in darker. Coincidence or not? I wonder…
